About Jon

Jon Center is a proud native of Highland Park, having attended Red Oak Elementary, Edgewood Middle School, and Highland Park High School (Class of 2003). He now has the privilege of raising his two children with his wife, Becky, in the same town he loves.

Elected to the City Council's 2-year seat in the April 1, 2025 consolidated election, Jon has brought a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the table. He deeply values transparency, believing that meaningful dialogue and open communication are essential for fostering trust within the community. This commitment to transparency is not just a personal principle; it is also a cornerstone of his professional journey as a former "Big 4" auditor and a licensed CPA.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the commercial sector, currently serving as SVP at a real estate development and investment firm, Jon's expertise in managing finances and driving economic development positions him to promote small business growth and job creation in Highland Park. His financial acumen ensures that every tax dollar is spent wisely, fostering opportunities for entrepreneurs and local businesses to flourish.

Since taking office, Jon has worked to bring critical discipline and fresh thinking to the Council's decisions — and he's running for a full term because the momentum is real, but the work isn't finished. Jon is dedicated to elevating every aspect of Highland Park to best-in-class status, striving to make it a safe, inclusive, and thriving place for families and businesses alike.

Jon served a five-year term on the board of Resilience, an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors, where he served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President. He also founded Foursomes 4 Philanthropy. a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that for 12 years raised thousands of dollars for local charities including Cancer Wellness Center, Alzheimer’s Association - Greater Illinois Chapter, Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation and Resilience.

These experiences underscore his commitment to service and his ability to lead and bring meaningful change to Highland Park.

In his free time, when he’s not working, being a dedicated husband and dad, or helping the community, Jon loves to golf and enjoys spending time at Highland Park’s very own Sunset Valley Golf Club.
